Plain language, no legal boilerplate padding

Terms of Use

These terms explain, in plain language, what Surah Yaseen is and how you may use it. By using this site, you agree to the points below.

What this site is

Surah Yaseen is a free, publicly readable presentation of the 36th chapter of the Quran: the Arabic text, an English transliteration, and an English translation, verse by verse. There is no account system, no paid tier, and no download or app required: everything on the site is available directly in your browser.

Source of the religious text

The Arabic text is the Tanzil Uthmani script, the English translation is the Saheeh International translation, and the transliteration is the English Transliteration edition, all retrieved via the open alquran.cloud API. This site does not alter, paraphrase, or reinterpret the wording of the Arabic text or the cited translation; it presents them as published by those sources. If you notice a discrepancy between what's shown here and the source editions, please contact us at contact@surahyaseen.xyz so it can be checked and corrected.

Using the content on this site

You are welcome to read this site, link to any page or verse on it, and quote short excerpts (for example, a verse or two) for personal, educational, or non-commercial use, with attribution. The underlying Quran text itself is religious scripture in the public domain and the specific translation and transliteration editions used here are published as open, freely accessible data; this site's own contribution is the presentation (layout, navigation, verse linking) rather than the text itself. If you'd like to reuse this site's own presentation, structure, or written explanatory sections at scale, please contact us first at contact@surahyaseen.xyz.

Not a substitute for religious scholarship

This site presents a widely used English translation and transliteration as a reading aid. It is not a substitute for study with a qualified Islamic scholar, and translation is, by its nature, an interpretation of the Arabic rather than a perfect equivalent of it. Where this site's FAQ sections mention scholarly opinions (for example, on the authenticity of a hadith), we aim to represent the range of scholarly views accurately and cite what we can verify, but readers seeking a religious ruling (fatwa) or detailed tafsir should consult a qualified scholar directly.

Availability of the site

We aim to keep this site available and fast, but like any website, occasional downtime, maintenance, or slow periods can happen. We don't promise a specific uptime percentage, and features described on this site (such as the print-friendly page or the feedback button) may be adjusted, improved, or occasionally temporarily unavailable as the site is maintained.

No warranty

This site is provided "as is", free of charge, without any warranty of any kind. We try to keep the site available, accurate, and free of errors, and we source the religious text from established, verifiable editions rather than composing it ourselves, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability or that the site will always be error-free. If you spot something that looks wrong, we'd genuinely like to hear about it via the Contact page.

External links

A small number of pages on this site link out to third-party sites, for example Tanzil.net's download page (a source text file for the whole Quran) or the alquran.cloud API documentation. We link to these because they are the actual source of the text used on this site, not as an endorsement of every other page or product those sites may offer. We don't control the content of external sites and aren't responsible for what they publish; if a linked site changes or goes offline, let us know via the Contact page and we'll update or remove the link.

Age and audience

This site is a general-audience religious reference page. It is not specifically designed for children, but nothing on it requires an account, collects personal information, or involves purchases (see our Privacy Policy), so there is no age-gate or sign-up process to worry about either way.

If a part of these terms turns out to be invalid

If any single point in these terms is ever found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that doesn't cancel the rest of the terms: the remaining points continue to apply as written, and the invalid point is treated as if it were narrowed just enough to become valid, rather than removed entirely where reasonably possible.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time as the site changes, for example if a new feature or page is added. We won't backdate a change to apply retroactively to something you already did under the previous version. The current version is always the one published on this page.

Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to contact@surahyaseen.xyz, or via our Contact page.
